I spoke today at a beautiful Retirement Village to a room full of varying ages, both men and women, although it was the women’s club.
I was asked to speak about my last book “Finding Friday” and my journey through a varied and interesting life that included 12 -14 children at various times.
While most people are fascinated with why, how, etc. anyone would want to have four kids, adopted eight, and foster numerous others, is beyond most people.
Did I have a mid-life crisis?
Am I another Mother Teresa?
A brain tumor?
Or just plain stupid!!!!
You see, it just so happened that the purpose I had been living out in my life for a really long time, with probably more passion that I needed, had come to an end. It took me a while to see, it was time for a different purpose, that would “Ignite a Different Passion“.
I was a bit slow to not only let go of what I thought was my ongoing purpose, but also a bit slow to not recognize things had been changing. I had moved countries which affected the purpose that I had deliberately been creating and intending.
I no longer had momentum with this purpose.
I no longer had a place to continue with this purpose.
All the parameters had changed. Nothing was happening! The doors had closed! The resistance to change within me was enormous. So big, it broke down everything. I had to find a new purpose that had been planned for me and was awaiting my arrival.
Well my new purpose, happened to be rescuing a number of children, some who stayed and became forever children. It also spilled over to an extension of the purpose to make others aware of what I call “The Lost Children” of this world.
Even though there were many mums and grandmas who either adopted or had adopted grand babies
A lot of these older than seventy people
DIDN’T THINK THEY HAD A PURPOSE LEFT IN THEIR LIFE!
I switched it up. I challenged them. I asked them.
SO, WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?
HOW PASSIONATE DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL?
Shock waves as good as it gets when you are over seventy, but real.
You see age is not a factor in finding your purpose. We always have a purpose in life and we need to apply our passion, and then deliberately create and intentionally make it happen. All in our hands, but mostly in our minds.
My new book “Find Your Purpose, Find Your Passion” is in the editing phase right now. If you would like a free E copy, sign up on the email list and I will give this to you free! Why, because everybody needs to find their Purpose at this time in their lives, be it 16 or 60!
